One Love Music Festival sees success in first staging

Published

on

Director of Rose Hall Developments and Executive Producer of the One Love Music Festival Michael Rollins has expressed excitement about the future of the festival following its first staging earlier this week.

His comments come despite time constraints which forced the producers to forgo performances by Morgan Heritage and Jesse Royal.

Rollins says he is optimistic for the “positive impact it (One Love Music Festival) will have on the lives of many Jamaicans”. He says he “was proud to host the event and can’t wait to build upon it next year.”

The first annual One Love Music Festival was held on February 4 and 5 in Rose Hall, Jamaica and left organizers already gearing up for a “bigger and better event in 2017”.

Creative Director for the festival, Cedella Marley says it “was an amazing experience. My father showed us that music can be both a message and a method for change, and that’s what this new festival is all about. I want to congratulate the One Love Music Festival production team and we are already working on next year.”

The mission of the event is to support ongoing charitable projects through the Bob Marley Foundation, Rose Town Foundation and Sandals Foundation which are focused on education, environment, poverty relief and sustainable community development initiatives.
