The Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) is to be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from April 29, 2016 to May 1, 2016.

Speaking at the launch of the 26th staging of the country’s largest tourism trade show earlier this week, head of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) Nicola Madden Greig indicated that this year’s staging will have several special features.

“Special features of JAPEX will include scheduled business appointments and a variety of social activities as well as great opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and make new connections. There will also be industry seminars covering topical subjects, at no extra cost, “she said.

The JHTA head says to this end, a partnership has been made with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) “to attract new buyers from emerging markets as well as reconnect with long-established ones. Buyers can expect to see and connect with tourism businesses representing all sub-sectors of the industry and will be delighted by the exciting variety of Jamaican products on offer”.

Meanwhile, head of the JTB, Paul Pennicook says the event provides the ideal mix of business and pleasure.

And Minister of Tourism & Entertainment Edmund Bartlett says JAPEX is critical to the government’s plans to ensure that tourism continues to play a crucial role in driving the economic growth and development of Jamaica.
