RedBk Jamaica Launches BlackBerry Mobile App

One key element among the many features available is the app’s ability to search regionally among the 5 RedBk regions making search more relevant to you as well as access to 12 Relevant Categories, including Emergency Numbers; Auto Suppliers etc.”

RedBk Jamaica Limited, publishers of the soon to be released 2012-2013 RedBk Telephone directories  announced that as of Monday, September 17th, 2012 the RedBk BlackBerry Application will be available for free public download.   The company in a statement to the media said the release of the BlackBerry Application follows extensive testing and modifications to ensure it meets international standards and importantly, the demanding expectations of Jamaican consumers.

The App was developed locally affirming RedBk’s stated commitment to partner and expose local capability as much as possible. The App launch follows on the heels of the “Beta” or test version of the company’s website www.redbk360.com and online directory now available to the public.

The public can download the RedBk BlackBerry Mobile App for FREE at:  www.redbk360.com/bb.or via the FREE RedBk BlackBerry Mobile App using the QR Code below. The App is now available through BB App World for free download.

Pryce also indicated that “The public will also be able to check the latest deals and events in the Featured Deals and Events Category tabs. They will also be able to make their own search category using the RedBk BlackBerry Mobile App Feature for optional setting to create Custom Search tabs. Other key features include the ability to view additional information about the advertiser as well as call, text or email directly from the App.”

RedBk Jamaica Limited started in November 2011 and immediately made an impact on the market and is now at the end of their 2012-2013 Canvass. The company had a few weeks ago indicated that publication dates for their directories are still on track for 2012 and that preparations are well underway for the printing of the five regional directories.

Grace Stockholders To Vote On 3-for-1 Stock Split Today

Shareholders of GraceKennedy Limited will this morning meet to consider and, if thought fit, approve a recommendation for a three-for-one stock split.

If approved, shareholders will receive three stocks for each one that is currently held.

According to group CEO Don Wehby, the stock units with a market price of J$115.00 per stock unit prior to the split will now increase threefold with an initial price of J$38.33 per stock unit

He says the stock split would allow GK’s stock to be made available to more investors while further enhancing the market for the shares.

Ahead of this morning’s Extraordinary General Meeting, GK last week issued 59,360 additional GK shares.

UK Loses S&P Triple A Rating

The UK has lost its top AAA credit rating from ratings agency S&P following the country’s vote to leave the EU.

S&P says the referendum result could lead to “a deterioration of the UK’s economic performance, including its large financial services sector”.

Earlier the pound plunged to a 31-year low against the dollar, and UK markets closed lower for a second day. On Friday,

Moody’s cut the UK’s credit rating outlook to negative.

Caribbean Hotels Named In Jetsetters’ 2016 Best Of The Best

Three Caribbean hotels have been named in US-based travel and lifestyle magazine Jetsetter’s 2016 Best of the Best awards.

The list which was published recently, highlighted the world’s 20 best hotels in categories ranging from Best Over-The-Top Luxury to Best Safari Lodge.

Included in the list were Antigua and Barbuda’s Barbuda Belle Luxury Beach Hotel, Anguilla’s Zemi Beach House Resort & Spa, and St Lucia’s BodyHoliday.
