Who Is Septimus “Bob” Blake, The Man Promoted To Chief Executive Officer For National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited?
NCB Financial Group Limited (“NCBFG”) has announced two key promotions and leadership changes at National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (“NCBJ”), their major Jamaican banking subsidiary:
“The appointment of Blake and Sadler as CEO and CFO of NCB Jamaica represents the latest transition in the Group’s leadership to ensure effective oversight and succession for both the bank and NCB Financial Group. This plan, which has been in progress for several years, started with the appointment of Blake to Chief Operating Officer for the Bank in April 2017,”
Mr. Septimus Blake, who is currently the Chief Operations Officer, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and a Director of NCBJ, replacing Mr. Patrick Hylton, who will cease to be CEO of NCBJ, while remaining a director of both NCBJ and NCBFG, and President & Group CEO of NCBFG.

So who is Mr. Septimus “Bob” Blake?
“Bob” Blake joined NCB in March 2002, and was General Manager, Treasury & Correspondent Banking Division since 2004, where he provided overall direction and management of the interest rate risk management, liquidity management, investment portfolio management, currency management, financial institutions relationship management functions and Foreign Exchange trading for the Bank.
He was also responsible for the management of local financial institution and correspondent banking relationships. He has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, and has received professional training in asset/liability & risk management both locally and overseas.
The other appointment will see Mr. Malcolm Sadler assuming responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of NCBJ replacing Mr. Dennis Cohen who will cease to be CFO and Deputy CEO of NCBJ, while remaining a director of both NCBJ and NCBFG, and Group CFO and Deputy CEO of NCBFG. These changes are all to take effect August 1, 2019.
