The Board of Directors of Radio Jamaica Limited, the parent company in the RJRGLEANER Communications Group announces the appointment of Joseph M. Matalon as Chairman to replace Hon. Oliver F. Clarke, O.J. who has given notice he will demit office on April 30, 2019.

Mr. Matalon who has served as a director of Radio Jamaica since the amalgamation of Radio Jamaica and The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited in 2016, has been a director of The Gleaner Company Limited (now trading as 1834 Investments Limited) since 1987. Mr. Clarke will continue to serve as a director.

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group also announces the following changes aimed at accelerating its strategic growth and expansion initiatives.

Chief Executive Officer, Gary Allen announces that Chief Operating Officer of the Group Christopher Barnes is to focus primarily on the portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives to be vigorously pursued as the Group moves to diversify its media and communications business. Mr. Barnes will remain Managing Director of GCML, while Garfield Grandison, who has returned from a leave of absence, will manage the day to day activities of that business as General Manager (Acting).

The Group also announces that it is merging the management of its Radio and Television services, into a single broadcast division and Mrs. Claire Grant will be General Manager of Radio and Television Jamaica. Ms. Natonia Sylva has been appointed Deputy General Manager — Marketing and Sales for the broadcast operations. Ms. Roxanne Walters who served as Marketing and Sales Manager — Radio will continue in the division.

Dr. Dennis Howard who served as General Manager, Radio for the past two years will relinquish the role following the completion of wide-ranging restructuring activities in the radio division and will resume his position as a director of Independent Radio Company.

Mr. Michael Henlin, who for the past year has been consulting on a number of technology and engineering matters has been appointed Chief Technology Officer.

Lasco Distributors Limited (LASD) has advised that Mr. Kenneth Sylvester was appointed to LASD’s Board of Directors on March 28, 2019.

Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) has advised of the appointment of Ms. Lorna Gooden as the new General Manager of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited effective May 1, 2019.

AMG Packaging & Paper Company Limited (AMG) has advised that on April 2, 2019, Mr. Duke Holness was appointed a Director of the Company. AMG has also advised that Mr. Metry Seaga and Mr. Bevon Francis were appointed members of the Audit and Finance Committee, effective April 2, 2019.

JMMB Group Limited (JMMBGL) has advised of the following appointments effective April 1, 2019:
1. Julian Mair as Group Chief Capital Markets Officer
2. Damion Brown as Group Chief Investments Officer; and
3. Dereck Rajack as Group Chief Risk Officer

NCB Financial Group Limited (NCBFG) has advised that in an effort to create a more cohesive sales and service experience for National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited’s (NCBJ) consumer, SME and corporate customers, effective April 5, 2019, NCBJ’s Retail and Corporate Banking Divisions will be consolidated. The combined division will be called the Consumer, SME and Corporate Banking Division and will be led by Mr. Brian Boothe, Senior General Manager (who currently heads the Retail Banking Division)
NCBFG has further advised that the current head of the Corporate Banking Division, Mr Andrew Simpson, will demit office on April 5, 2019, and NCBJ thanks him for his contributions to NCBJ and the Corporate Banking Division.
