NAFTA Should Be Modernised Only Under The Agreement Of The Three Parties.
Canada’s Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland and her Mexican counterpart Luis Videgaray have jointly indicated that NAFTA should be modernised only under the agreement of the three parties. In order to have a trilateral agreement, you need to have trilateral negotiations they indicated, as both Canada and Mexico on Tuesday insisted that an overhaul of the North American Free Trade Agreement demanded by the United States must be negotiated in three-way talks and not bilaterally. The foreign ministers of the two countries discussed common ground ahead of the talks expected to start in August 2017. BM
